Karen Findon, Psy.D. – Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Karen Findon moved from the mountains of Montana to the warm beaches of Florida in 2008 to attend graduate school at Nova Southeastern University. She earned her Masters Degree followed by her Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in the treatment and assessment of children, adolescents, and families. After completing an internship at the Palm Beach County Youth Affairs and postdoctoral fellowship at the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic of Jackson Memorial Hospital, she relocated to Monroe County. Dr. Findon’s first role in the Keys was to provide clinical services for abused and neglected children through Wesley House Family Services. She additionally opened her private practice, Keys Psychology LLC, where she offers psychological services to clients of diverse backgrounds, age groups, and presenting symptomology. She is one of the few clinicians in the Florida Keys at the doctoral level who has extensive experience evaluating and treating youth with traumatic histories, developmental disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, and behavioral problems. Her research experience includes studying the psychological effects of family conflict and intergenerational trauma and she applies this knowledge when treating children and adults whose traumatic experiences yielded mood irregularities, interpersonal difficulties, and substance abuse. Dr. Findon tailors her theoretical approach using current evidence based practices to meet each client’s specific needs. She is honored to join Dr. Miguel Diaz and his team in offering our community members the benefits of receiving quality mental health with medical care.

Rachel Alexander, LPN (Office Nurse)

I am an Indiana native raised in South Florida.  Before attending nursing school at Atlantic Technical Institute I enjoyed 10 years as a Veterinarian  Technician.  There I discovered my admiration for nursing.  I have always enjoyed the free-spirit and dedicated fishing atmosphere of the Florida Keys.  After relocating here five years ago I was given the wonderful opportunity to board the ASAP practice.  I am very privileged to be a part of your care and hope I can offer comfort along the way.
